I have Malibu outdoor lighting with pinch type pieces of metal that hold on to the little bulbs. I’ve tried pinching the 2 pieces closer, but this works for about a day before it loosens and the light goes out. Is there any type of product that conducts electricity I can put in this socket to make the connection more stable?

A friend requested I take pictures of her baby. She wants outdoor lighting, and I tend to favor it as well. What time of day has the best lighting for these types of pictures? I know the sun shouldn’t be too high in the sky so it doesn’t cast heavy shadows.

The sun rises around 6 AM and sets around 8 PM.

It’s best to start early in the morning. Say around 7am. Because at this time light is rather soft and not too strong. And it doesn’t create nasty shadows like the midday sun does.

Plus, the morning sun won’t be too harsh on the baby.

Question by Miss. Peace: If I have a JA24V 60W light bulb, what would it be converted to for LED lighting?
This is a black top bulb for a halogen lamp. I’d like to make this LED. Is it possible? It is meant for a overhead chair light for a dental office. Thank you all. That looks like a very specialized bulb, without a standard base, so it is doubtful that there is a drop in replacement. An electrician could rewire the light to use a standard base bulb. The benefits would be less electricity, less heat and a lower cost. The bulb may not fit as it would be larger than the one it is replacing.

I have 4 outdoor lights, 2 lanterns and 2 recessed lightings. The switch is part of 3 switches that controls indoor lights and sockets. Whenever I turn on the outdoor switch, it triggers the circuit breaker. The other 2 switches don’t do this. The 2 lantern lights worked when checked individually. But I didn’t check the recessed lights yet. What could be the problem?

My solar lights are made by Westinghouse. I bought them last year from QVC and paid about$ 100 for a twelve pack. I love these lights. They’re the kind that will change colors or stay white, if you prefer. I keep mine white most of the time and use the color changing feature for Christmas lighting. They have always stayed well-lit, I live in Florida so we have a lot of sunshine. Westinghouse has high-quality solar lighting, although it is slightly more expensive than most other brands. Love the stainless steel finish.

I just got a Lakeside Collection catalog in the mail today and there are some interesting and low-cost solar lighting items featured. For instance, 24 piece solar string light sets $ 12.95 per set. Set of 2 solar spor lights $ 9.95 a set. There are several other solar light options available and the prices are really low.

I am currently looking at solar lighting but want to stay cheap, very cheap. I found a little 5 watt solar panel and I want to use its’ power for a few low wattage 12v DC lights. Can I rig this to a number of cheap solar charging AA batteries rather than buying a much larger solar battery?

you would need 8 AA batteries, and hood them all together to run 12v lights, but I am sure that it could be done.
or you could pick up a good car battery and do it easier.
